Dawless Jam - Soma Pulsar 23, Moog Matriarch & Subharmonicon, Buchla Easel, Nord Piano 5
The Soma Pulsar 23 and Moog Subharmonicon make a great little rhythmic pair. When self-patched the Pulsar can create almost EDM-like variance, and the Subharmonicon's evolving polyrhythms just add to the rhythmic web. Layering on top is some bass from my beloved Buchla 208c, and some pads/layers from the Moog Matriarch and Nord Piano 5.

Crunchy downtempo jam with Tasty Chips GR-1, Soma Pulsar 23, Moog Matriarch, Arturia Keystep Pro
Просмотров 966Год назад
First jam using the Tasty Chips GR-1! Originally I was thinking of it only as a granular synth. Which it is a great example of (especially in the hardware world). However its multitimbral nature makes it an awesome little mini mixer for bringing lots of textures to a DAW-less setup like this one. This Drum Machine is Amazing! - Relaxed Vibes from Soma Pulsar 23, Buchla Easel, and Moog Matriarch

I wasn't sold on the Pulsar 23 immediately. But the more I play with it, the more it entices me. It has an organic quality I've never heard before in a drum machine, the patching can get really crazy if you want to, tons of fun sources for modulation (and cross modulation), and a surprisingly diverse sound palette. I think it fits in quite nicely with the rest of toys. What do you think? Patch ...
Improvised Cinematic Soundscapes - Buchla Easel Command & Strymon Volante Sound on Sound Looper

I always find that the Sound On Sound looper in the Strymon Volante brings interesting ideas forward. It is such a unique way of composing/improvising. It is constantly evolving and fading away the old ideas, so you are forced to keep moving regardless of what happened in the past. As always the Buchla Easel Command brings a very organic and captivating sound to the table. Please Like and SUBSC...

Idk if anyone else has tried this but you can make a flanger by automating the milliseconds of delay parameter inside the comb filter with the modifiers, its not exactly the same but its in the ballpark

I hate this pedal with a passion. Presets are unusable as are 90% of the community presets. Had it for a year and can't program anything that's musical in a live situation. I had one patch I programmed and kind of liked. Saved it to the #1 bay. When I went to hit it live, it wasn't the same patch. And now they've done a "software upgrade", which has made it so now I can't edit it thru my phone and the USB connection to the computer fails at random times, losing any work I had done and even crashing the computer. What a waste of a lot of money and time. Selling it.

I’ve got a somewhat unorthodox question and I’d love your take on it if willing. I’m a long-time bassist with multi-genre experience and I’m starting a top-shelf funk band. I love the idea of being able to cover/double some of the synth lines. I already own some synths for edm production and have an HX stomp with decent synths and I’m confident I could just bring keys as well if need be, but I’d prefer not to. I’m pretty set on the C4 due to size and ability and tracking, but I’m concerned I’m not going to use it enough to justify it. Do you have any thoughts/advoce/ examples of synth bass in use you could share? TIA, great video!

I've never played a big box qtron, so I can't directly say. Buy the Xero is a very different style filter from the qtron. It is very synthy, 4 pole, and very clean. Less quacky and funky than the qtron. I believe I had the pad before, but I dont remember. Honestly either placement would be cool in this situation.

@@iosifkalpaktsoglou2045 to my knowledge the LVX doesn't directly have/support this kind of stutter effect. You can get some glitchy sounds with the granular processor, and some multitap delays. But it won't have the controllability of the Ottobit.

@ZacharyRizer I see. I love the stutter in the ottobit but I wish there was a wet/ dry mix as it completely blocks my dry signal. I place it in an fx loop of another pedal to overcome this issue. One thing I have not been able to find a solution to is how to control how often it occurs. I d love to see an expanded version with wet dry mix, control of how often the stutter occurs, choice of specific speeds in the random mode, envelope and lfo controls of parameters.

Honestly I never had both to compare directly side by side. But if my memory serves me correctly, the JoshWah was a bit 'dirtier' for lack of a better word. Felt a bit more raw. Whereas the 3leaf is more of a traditional 2-pole low pass filter, super clean and quacky.
